2007 Alliance of Bass Clubs Challenge Cup Champions

Westchester Rod & Reel Bassmasters

5th Championship

Team Captain George Puskar and John Cannizzaro were the first to weigh-in, bringing in a limit of 9+ lbs. on a day when catching a limit was not easy due to wind and boat traffic.

Next up, Charlie Coliskey and John Ogilik...and the scales said...10+ pounds giving the team 20 pounds with one team to go.

And finally, Bob Jorgensen and Rich Russell came to the scales...we've seen that smile before, good things are about to happen, 14+ pounds and the big bag of the day award went to Bob and Richie.

The team won the club's 5th Alliance of Bass Clubs Challenge Cup Championship with a total weight of 34 pounds. Way to go team!

A special thanks to Kamel Jamal for his help at the event providing the food and beverages for all the Challenge Cup teams.

Summer Classic - Lake Champlain - Ticonderoga

July 7-8, 2007

The 2007 Summer Classic started out with an awesome sunrise. Jimmy Johnson is in the foreground waiting for the tournament to begin enjoying a cool Monster Energy Drink.

2006 Summer Classic defending champion Rich Russell had a tremendous first day on the water weighing in 15 plus pounds on day 1.

Andre Fraser landed a nice largemouth while fishing with Bob Jorgensen.

Charlie Coliskey, a member known for his ability to catch big fish, weighed in 15+ pounds on day one, including this 5 pounder.

Loring Tamaro weighed in his catch on day one...nice hat.

Joe Rizzo weighed in his first day limit of five largemouth bass.

Tournament Committee Chairman John Cannizzaro had a busy weigh-in on day one...does that display read 19+ pounds...who could that be?

Bob Jorgensen is very interested to know what this bag of 4 largemouth bass and 1 smallmouth will weigh...

That is because those fish were Bob's day one catch that tipped the scale at over 19 pounds to give him the day one lead. But we've seen this show before, will Bob be able to maintain his commanding lead over 2 days, only time would tell?

John Ogolik, Phil Fillie, Denis Horbatuk and Joe Santha, Jr. prepared their boats and tackle to do battle on day 2 of our event.

Bob Jorgensen and Chris Gore talked a little about their first day on the water.

The Summer Classic 2007 dinner was held at Eddie's Restaurant where the members enjoyed good food, drink, prizes and a bunch of laughs.

Kamel Jamal, John Bush, Rusty Paone, John Cannizzaro and Charlie Coliskey shared a table at the dinner.

Joe Rizzo appears to be having fun telling jokes and hamming it up for the camera.

That last joke Joe told was so funny that Rusty fell off his chair.

Bob Jorgensen bag of 17 plus pounds on day two was more than enough to winner the tournament by over 6 pounds. Bob's total weight was 36.07 lbs. broke the club's two-day total weight record formerly held by Rich Russell. Richie Bose was the first runner up with 29.72 lbs., followed by John Cannizzaro with 28.44 lbs.

Conservation Committee Chairman Jimmy Johnsen introduced a pilot program to wash and dissinfect the boats and trailer to reduce the spread of the VHS virus.

The program included power washing the boats and trailers, and using a dissinfectant sprayed on the boats hulls and livewells.
